I did not know until today that Bell Labs is part of Nokia, I will say Nokia does have some business sight on the field he knows. I think as a lab, innovation is the key of progress, This is the link to their Journal.
I think the main reason that Nokia acquired 80% of Alcatel-Lucent which make Bell Labs as part of Nokia is MIMO which is the future of wireless network. MIMO is also called Large-Scale Antenna Systems which is capable of transfer 1,000 more times as much as the data transfer today. Amazing… it also mentioned of 3D personal vedio, is Vedio already 3D? It all could happen in the next 5 to 10 years.
